Frustrations in Freelancing

Even though I work full-time, I also take on freelance writing whenever I can. I had been brought on as a freelance writer for a couple of different websites, both of which ghosted me. Through other freelancers, I’ve discovered this as more common than any of us care to see happen.

I have to admit, it’s frustrating though. I blame myself in part, for one of the experiences. I hadn’t found good enough sources for an article, and while I made do with what I had, it didn’t seem to be good enough. After that, I was dropped as a writer. Hindsight is 20/20 of course. Looking back, I should have spoken up about the challenge I was having and requested an extension on my deadline.

Next week, I have another opportunity coming up, and so, we’ll see how that all goes. I’m frustrated though and find the whole process an uphill battle.

    1. A bit better. The company that “ghosted” me (or so I thought) turned out to just be an employee on vacation then who also had wi-fi issues. Another situation has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth that may lead me to find other freelance work when given the chance.
