My Book Restlessness is Back (And Other Updates)

It’s hard to say what the real cause is this time, but my book restlessness has returned. That’s why I have updated my book review policy recently to reflect that. It’s hard to know what I would enjoy reading!

I have gotten into a comfortable groove with my day job now, even starting earlier in the day than I thought I would. I start at 7:30 in the morning, but the nice thing is I get to end my day at around 4. I have even gotten into a rhythm with my side freelance jobs. I commit myself to only doing those on the weekend, and I try not to take on too much. However, I fell under the weather pretty bad mid-January which drained my energy, making me even more careful about what I handle.

Writing-wise, I am regularly submitting my short stories. I have even been working on a few new ones too! And so I’m hoping that my momentum will continue and I’ll see one published this year.

Blogging, well it hasn’t quite come back to me. I do have a lot on my plate, so it’s been hard to have this come back regularly for me like it used to be for me. Does anyone blog anymore? I find that Substack has gotten really popular. I’m not into social media much at all, although I tend to watch the videos the most (I guarantee you though, I”ll never be a video creator on social media, but they are fun to watch). I’ve even contemplated bringing my blog back to Blogger since that always felt like a friendlier platform. I’d keep my domain of course but just have a newer place for me to write.

I still can’t believe we are in the midst of this pandemic as strongly as ever. I keep hoping to see it fade somewhat, and go into the background of daily life. We’ll see, maybe things will turn around this year.

Hope everyone is doing well! I plan to start taking on more book reviews, guest authors, and more, so I’ll be more consistent than I have been (ideally).
