Across the street from my apartment complex is an abandoned house. It actually is gated closed and only contains a little shack at the side. The house was torn down a few years ago and it’s been empty ever since we moved to the complex.
A couple of years or so ago, my mom, older brother, and I were driving back home, pretty late at night. It was probably around 9 or 10 o’clock at night.
As we were about to turn into the complex, a woman is crossing the street yet coming towards us at the same time. She’s ghastly looking and very white, and faint and headed right for us. My brother and I call out, “Go! Go! Don’t stop!”
My mom turned into the complex but pulled to a far side of the parking lot. It was the creepiest thing because when we all looked around – the lady was gone. I don’t know how she could have moved so fast, but she wasn’t there anymore.
I know transients live in the woods near my house, but they none of them ever come out at night like that. She wasn’t a resident of our complex, because we would have seen her go into one of the apartments.
It was the closest thing I could ever come to seeing a ghost and while I’m still not sure what that was, it has stayed with me ever since.
Have you ever seen a ghost?
Very powerful writing. I am not sure if I've seen a ghost. I mean, there has been more than one circumstance when I was too afraid to turn around and look, I just got that feeling… if that makes any sense. Sometimes I feel as if I feel ghosts….
Intriguing stuff… eeeps! Ghosties on A to Z today!!

I think I know what you mean – sometimes you can just sense when something is there!
Creepy stuff. If all three of you saw it ….. or maybe there is a logical explanation somewhere …….
Maybe!
Stopping by on the 8th day of the #atozchallenge. Know you are making lots of new blogging friends. If you have time or interest, I am writing about gardens and related topics this month. Stop by and see me.
I'll come visit!
Creepy!
My aunt and uncle lived with one of their daughters in an old farmhouse for several years. Periodically when my aunt was alone in the house, she'd hear the voice of a little girl. No one in the house, and the nearest neighbour a long way off. Her daughter heard it too from time to time.
I haven't seen one, but I've felt the presence of one, walking through a park one day, feeling a tug at my pant leg as though a small child was trying to get my attention. There was no one there. And in the place I live in now, one night I heard a radio come on elsewhere in the flat, twice, for no reason. I was all alone, and there it was, blues music. My flatmate says she's had some odd experiences.
Oh I love ghost stories like this!!
I don't know if I've ever seen a ghost. I haven't had any overt experiences but ultimately, how would I ever really know? Anyway, good choice for today. Keep writing.
Thanks!
Ooh, this is creepy. I've never seen a ghost but I lived in a pub for a few weeks that was supposedly haunted, and the upstairs would smell of toast every now and again. I experienced that, but tried not to worry too much about it at the time!
How cool! I love it!
that would definetely give one jitters…
What a fun house and a good story.
I've done a lot of investigating with paranormal friends, a few houses, some conferences, and LOTS of cemeteries.
I love your blog!
How cool!! That's something I need to do!
Oooooh creepy! I have witnessed and felt some ghostly things I can't explain. I would love to explore that house with a camera, I have had strange things come up I photos and I wish I kept copies. Very intriguing post.
