It’s almost Saturday night! Today, I have author Jessica Guicheteau. She recently published the book 32nd Notes to Salvation. I’m so excited to have her as a guest today. Before I tell you more about her book, she’ll be sharing her suggestions for Saturday night.
Take it away, Jessica!
Book Recommendation
I love books that talk about the meaning of faith which give the reader reassurance God is with them through every storm. The Wait Will Not Be Wasted by Lauren Lianne is a great resource to encourage those who are desiring a spouse; who feel like there’s no hope for a relationship. Lauren Lianne makes it a point to say with her book that God has a purpose and a plan for your life.
I had the utmost pleasure of being featured as a fan guest on CeCe Winans’ YouTube podcast Generations episode called “Love for Singles” where Lauren Lianne talks about her book. In this episode, Lauren Lianne states, “God knew you would be single today and therefore, it is good.” That comment really resonated with me. I, as well, want people to know your time is not wasted, God sees you, and he has someone special “waiting” just for you.
Movie Recommendation
As I was thinking about my answer to this question, so many of my favorite movies came flooding through my mind. One movie that stuck out to me was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I love how each “sister” takes the viewer on their journey through a hardship she is facing. I can relate personally to each sister’s story in this movie in terms of my own life.
Each sister goes through journeys of: a sister who is coping with a parent who died from mental illness, another sister who has a friend battling a terminal/chronic physical illness, another sister struggling with self-esteem and beauty/body image, and another sister who is holding on to something or someone special to them, even when her family doesn’t agree with her decision.
I love the theme in this movie about faith and believing things will work out, even if/when you don’t see it in the moment. I also love how the movie talks about being proud of the small things you succeed at in life. I love how the movie talks about the meaning of life and how someone should cherish every moment they have because life is not promised to us from one day to the next.
A Wild Card Recommendation
Saturday night is a great time to spend in prayer with God. I love taking either a few moments in my day or sometimes a whole day just soaking in God’s Word via reading scriptures. Simultaneously, I enjoy listening to contemporary Christian/Gospel music as I internalize the musical notes and lyrics of the songs. It’s like I’m spiritually meditating, but in music therapy form. Doing so allows me to release all of my negative feelings to God, whether that be fear, frustration, desperation, sadness, grief…. whatever is on my mind that day. Spending a day in prayer let’s me know God will take care of everything.
What beautiful recommendations, Jessica! Here’s more about her book 32nd Notes to Salvation:
32nd Notes to Salvation is about my life challenges I have endured. My book walks the reader through my life challenges I endured, from the time of my birth to my present. I talk about utilizing music therapy in a spiritual way, while simultaneously internalizing God’s scripture. I have interpreted lyrics of gospel and secular religious music in ways which have helped me walk through life and move forward. My prayer is that my book will inspire others to know they are not alone. God is with them through every challenge of life and he will see you through.
Purchase a copy on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You can also add it to your GoodReads reading list.
