My Review of Lost Heart in King Manor by Celeste Fenton

I’m excited to be part of another WOW! Women on Writing blog tour: Lost Heart in King Manor by Celeste Fenton. Before we get to my review here’s more about the book:

At 45, Gabby Heart isn’t looking for drama—just quiet days on Dost Island running her village gift shop, teaching art, and keeping her past tucked safely away. But when her mother suffers a sudden health crisis, Gabby is pulled into a storm of family secrets, betrayal, and a dark legacy buried within the walls of the once-grand King Manor. What was supposed to be a safe place for her mother’s recovery becomes the backdrop for a chilling mystery. Strange incidents begin to unfold, and it becomes clear: someone inside King Manor has a deadly agenda. With a hurricane trapping her inside the manor, Gabby must navigate the treacherous waters of deception and danger, working alongside two very different men – her infuriatingly attractive officemate and a charming new neighbor, both harboring their own secrets.

One man may want her heart. The other may want her dead.

But can she trust her instincts before it’s too late?

My Review

What a book! This captured me right away. I loved reading about Gabby and her relationship with her mom. And I really loved that this book started out with a bang. It went right into the heart of the story. If I could ask the author to teach any class, I’d love her to teach a class on pacing. She’s right on the money with this novel. The book just made want to keep reading it. And I love when I feel that way. Her mom was quite the character and one I loved reading. I also really enjoyed the King’s Manor setting. It was richly described. There’s also a healthy dose of romance. And while not usually my choice in fiction, I think it was well done.

Overall, I absolutely recommend this one!
