Mayan Calendar Update! The World is Not Coming to An End.

The Sun's take on the News Of The World being closed: World's End

Recent news has erupted that the world may not come to an end this year. While some of you people out there may still continue building your underground panic room or continue plotting how to storm the space ship that will send out all the smart people to the secret safety planet, the rest of us can breathe a sigh of relief.

Scientists have discovered a Mayan workshop that calculates that our world probably continue on for another 6,000 years. An expert on Mayan astrology, Anthony Aveni of  Colgate University stated, “Why would they go into those numbers if the world is coming to an end this year?”

I don’t know about you, but I am still a little wary that this holiday season may be a touch more chaotic than normal this year. So, in celebration of the world not coming to an end, I’ve made a list of the top ten hopeful songs to celebrate 2013! I was going to put together apocalyptic movie clips, but I figured something a little more positive would do the trick.

So I hope you enjoy!

1) Beautiful Day by U2

2) Brand New Day by Sting

3) Bagpipes Rendition of Amazing Grace

5) World Spins Madly On by the Weepies

6) Moving On by Rascal Flatts

7) Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Bob Marley

8) Nothing Else Matters by the Gregorian Monks

9) I Can See Clearly Now by Jimmy Cliff

10) Day-O by Harry Belafonte

So what song do you think gives hope for the new year? How will you be celebrating the lack of the end of the world?

    1. I'm certain there will be a purpose for them!! Ha ha…I'm wondering what to do with my spaceship. Heehee.

  2. Ah, the end of the world. My favorite genre. But I have to agree that the Mayan calender wasn't marking the end of the world. However, it could be the end of an era and the beginning of another. And who knows what that might mean.

    1. Hehe..yes!! I know…do you know the IRS will accept the excuse potential end of world for the reason my taxes are late?

  3. I'm not worried about the mayan calendar or any other. The world will end when it ends. We might be getting close they condsidering the way civilization is going! In the end it is in God's hands. But thank you for sharing these songs with us. I also love U2 and Sting. Some great choices. Take care, Nicole!

  4. This must mean the aliens are coming then. I have my tin foil hat ready! I'm going to have to pick the song E.T. by Katy Perry šŸ™‚

  5. Hi, Nicole. Hmm? My choice of song always varies, depending upon my mood. My iPod has well over 7000 songs, and the jukebox in my head infinitely more. That U2 song is a great choice, however. I love the video, too. Another year means another year since my beloved Cubs last won a World Series. 1908 was a long time ago. *weeps*
Thanks for sharing the fun post.
