I had the wonderful opportunity to try the Amarula Cream Liqueur and I couldn’t wait to share my experience with you.
One thing I learned from drinking this liqueur is that Amarula is made from a fruit called “marula” found in Africa. Found in South Africa (as well as Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia, and Zimbabwe) marula trees grown in abundance. They are beautiful trees and drought-resistant. The fruit from the tree (the marula fruit) is a sweet, tropical fruit. It has a citrus tang and a creamy taste. Actually it makes for a perfect liqueur in my opinion.
Now, to the most important part, the liqueur! I have to tell you this was unbelievable. One of my biggest complaints about liqueurs in general is that they can be too sweet and I have a hard time enjoying it. But this wasn’t the case. It had such a light, sweet flavor and yet it was so rich at the same time. It goes down smooth and it’s guaranteed to please your family, friends, or guests. It also would make for an excellent gift, or thank you gift of some kind. Over all, this is the best liqueur I’ve had in a while and I promise this is better than Bailey’s ANY DAY. I wish they had this in every store.
The price? I would say it’s about the cost I would personally usually purchase for liqueur’s. It isn’t out of range, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to find this liqueur near ME (I live in Oregon) and so I’m very happy about this. If you want to purchase this amazing liqueur online, I highly recommend checking out Wine-Searcher.com.
Overall, I was so pleased with this drink. I definitely plan to purchase and enjoy this again. It was gently sweet, rich tasting, and far better than anything I’ve tasted in a while.

YUM!! I want one for the New Year! š
This sounds SO GOOD! Does this mean I need to spend NY in Canada?! I would do it. LOL
This drink looks very yummy. A great drink for the NY
That sounds delicious! I love a cream liqour.
I haven't had a cream liquor drink in years. After reading this post though, I just may have to forgo the champagne this New Year's eve.
You piqued my interest immediately when you touched upon how they give back. That is of UTMOST importance to me when I consider new brands. I have a BEVMO in walking distance and the hubs and I can use this for my signature "Toasted Almond Martinis." I will be purchasing! Thank you for the review – Heather, Life of a Traveling Navy Wife
